The SLV Halle GmbH was established in 1991 from the expertise of the Zentralinstitut für Schweißtechnik and is part of the decentralized structure of the welding technology in the Federal Republic of Germany. The range of services includes the market-oriented research and development in addition to the training of professionals in welding and testing technology and in the material and component testing. As part of the research and development, basics for new procedural options are developed and their application of the systems in technical special solutions inclusive of quality management arrangement. The complex imaging test is currently in the process of replacing step-by-step the classical ultrasonic weld seam testing.
The SLV Halle GmbH is an important link between device-related developments and industrial use of the developed technology. The testing, adaptation and collaboration in new and further development of complex monitoring systems is one of the main aims of the company in addition to the technical training required, which is planned as network development. Based on the current investigations for using phased-array technique in the SLV Halle GmbH, several solutions should be developed in the network, which ensure a reliable proof of imperfection in thick-walled weld seams.
